Built for the throw

Made for the field, not a clipboard.

🛰

GPS that knows.

Real distance, not estimated steps. The phone watches the ball travel and logs the landing on a satellite map of your field.

Pocket Lock.

Once you start, the phone stays asleep against your leg. Pull it out — your last throw, session max, and PR are right there.

🩺

Arm-care alerts.

Tracks acute vs. chronic workload — the same indicator pro pitching labs use — and flags when you're heading into injury territory.

🌬

Weather-tagged.

Every PR carries the wind, temperature and elevation it was thrown in, so you can separate real progress from a tailwind day.

🥎

BP mode.

Mound to home plate, fixed distance, throw rhythm tracked. Auto-counts your bullpen so you can pitch without the clicker.

👥

Coach Mode.

Coaches see every athlete's live distance, throw count and max from one screen. Three phones, one dashboard, zero spreadsheets.

VS THE ALTERNATIVES

Built for athletes priced out of pro-grade tools.

Driveline and Jaeger built great programs for elite players who can afford them. LongToss gives high-school and travel athletes the same data layer for one tenth the cost.

How it works

Three steps. Phone in pocket.

1

Open. Tap start.

One green button. The app locks onto GPS, tags today's weather and waits.

2

Drop it in. Play catch.

Phone slides into your throwing-side pocket. Motion sensors and GPS pick up every release without you touching the screen.

3

Pull it out. See the day.

Total throws, max distance, satellite map of every landing, weather, PRs — all sitting on the home screen when you check.

FROM THE FOUNDER

Why I built LongToss.

I’ve been coaching pitchers in San Diego for over a decade. For most of it, I watched kids write down long-toss numbers that were flat-out wrong. Not on purpose — nobody wants to lie about their arm — but 250 ft looks a lot like 280 ft from the mound, and after a hundred throws in the sun, nobody’s counting steps.

I tried tape measures. I tried marking cones every 30 feet. I tried filming from a drone. Every workaround died the same way: it took a coach away from coaching to babysit the measurement. And the second the coach walked away, the numbers went right back to fiction.

The first time I saw GPS distance track a throw automatically — phone in the athlete’s pocket, real feet on a satellite map, weather stamped on the PR — it was the first honest long-toss data I’d ever seen. That’s what LongToss is. It’s a coach’s stopwatch and tape measure that never gets tired and never lies. Pro pitching labs charge thousands for that data layer. High-school pitchers deserve the same clarity for the price of a coffee.

Better data doesn’t throw the ball for you. But it makes every honest rep count.

Common questions

Everything coaches and pitchers ask before downloading.

What is LongToss Tracker? +

LongToss Tracker is the first GPS-powered long toss app for baseball pitchers. You put your phone in your pocket, walk out, throw — the app uses GPS and motion sensors to measure every throw's distance automatically, no buttons to tap.

How does LongToss measure my throws? +

The app uses your phone's GPS and accelerometer together. It locks a high-accuracy "Point 0" at session start using static GPS averaging (±2–4 ft typical), then measures how far you walk out between throws and uses motion sensors to detect each individual rep. Every throw lands on a satellite map of the field with the real distance.

What is ACWR and why does LongToss track it? +

ACWR (Acute-to-Chronic Workload Ratio) is a sports-science metric pro coaches use to predict throwing injury risk. It compares your throws from the last 7 days to your average from the last 28 days. LongToss flags you when your ratio crosses into caution (1.3–1.5) or high risk (>1.5) territory so you can deload before an injury.

How much does LongToss cost? +

LongToss has two tiers. Plus is $5/month — the core tracker. Pro is $12/month — everything in Plus plus Solo Mode (tripod + Apple Watch, no partner needed) and auto-clipped throw videos with distance burned into every clip. Every new athlete gets a 24-hour free trial — card required at sign-up, but cancel from the Manage page before it ends and you won’t be charged. If you keep going and change your mind, email us within 7 days of your first charge for a full refund, no questions asked.

Does LongToss work on iPhone and Android? +

Yes. LongToss runs as a Progressive Web App on both iPhone (Safari) and Android (Chrome). Add it to your home screen for a real-app experience. No App Store download required — open the link, throw, you're tracking.

Can two players use LongToss together? +

Yes. Partner Mode pairs two phones via QR code and locks a survey-grade baseline distance between you. Every throw inherits the real partner distance with ±3–5 ft accuracy, instead of guessing from GPS alone.

Does LongToss work for short-range bullpen and BP throws? +

Yes. BP Mode is designed for fixed-distance throws like mound work — set your target distance once and every detected throw counts toward your session. The ACWR engine treats high-volume short-range throws as workload load just like long-toss volume.

Is my GPS and session data private? +

Yes. Your session data lives on your phone first, then syncs to a private account. Only you and any coach you explicitly invite can see it. Anonymous aggregate data may inform product improvements, but we never share individual throw data with third parties.
